VOLUNTEER WITH LLS
To date team b.strong has raised over $2 million to support The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society a global leader in the fight against cancer. The LLS mission: Cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. LLS funds lifesaving blood cancer research around the world, provides free information and support services, and is the voice for all blood cancer patients seeking access to quality, affordable, coordinated care.

Participate in the annual 5k to celebrate Bernard's birthday on August 19th
Fundraise and walk in Light The Night, a celebration of light to drive out the darkness of cancer
Train for a run, walk, cycle, hike or triathlon event through Team In Training
Identify candidates to run for Man & Woman of the Year and Student of the Year competitions
Assist with Pennies for Patients campaign, a science-based, service learning program for students ranging from Kindergarten through High School

JOIN THE BONE MARROW DONOR REGISTRY
Joining the Be The Match Registry® means volunteering to be listed as a potential blood stem cell donor, ready to save the life of any patient in need of a transplant. Bernard underwent two bone marrow transplants, both times with his sister as the donor. You could be someone’s cure. You could literally save a life.
BE A BLOOD DONOR
Many cancer patients need blood, platelet and plasma donations as part of their treatments. Connect with your local blood bank to make an appointment today. If you donate at the San Diego Blood Bank please give the code BL19 when you check-in. For those outside of the San Diego area please feel welcome to create a code in conjunction with your local facility so it can be noted donations are made in honor of Bernard. If you create a code locally let us know so we can add it to the list for others to see.
