To celebrate Bernard and keep the b.strong light bright we will be organizing/participating in a number of events. Most of these are accessible to you regardless of where you live through your local Leukemia & Lymphoma Society chapter, virtual events and live streams so we hope you'll be joining us soon!
B.STRONG 5K
Annually on August 19th
Celebrate Bernard's birthday by participating in a 5k run/walk. All proceeds will benefit LLS and each registrant will receive a b.strong race shirt and a special token of participation. For more information click here.

Team In Training (TNT) is the charity leader in endurance sports training and is the way Bernard and Dee started their involvement with LLS. You can choose from a number of run/walk, cycling, triathlon or hiking events that best suits your interest (click above for a full list).

Walk with us to celebrate, honor and remember those touched by cancer. At Light The Night (LTN), it is our aim to bring light to the darkness of cancer through research and cures.
MAN, WOMAN & STUDENT OF THE YEAR CAMPAIGNS
Looking for future candidates
Bernard ran for, and won, the title of LLS All-Star of the Year in 2019 raising $179,000 in 10 weeks. He also previously ran for Man of the Year in 2014. The title "Man or Woman of the Year" is awarded to the candidate whose team raises the most funds in each of the local LLS chapters. The top man & woman candidate in the country are awarded with the national title. There is a separate Student of the Year competition for high school students as well. PENNIES FOR PATIENTS
Ongoing connections needed
Pennies for Patients is a science-based, service learning program for students ranging from Kindergarten through High School and has raised more than $368 million in support of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. It is a three-week campaign where students fundraise by collecting coins, cash and online donations. Schools coordinate fundraising events, unifying their student bodies and top fundraising classrooms receive celebration parties. Elementary and middle schools also receive the LLS STEM curriculum to incorporate into their lesson plans throughout the school year.
